Among other things, we use tools from companies based in third countries that are not secure under data protection law, as well as US tools whose providers are not certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF). When these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in these countries. You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. You can contact us at any time for this purpose. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:
- If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we usually need time to verify this. For the duration of the review, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
- If the processing of your personal data was/is unlawful, you can request the restriction of data processing instead of deletion.
- If we no longer need your personal data, but you need it to exercise, defend, or assert legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of deletion.
- If you have lodged an objection pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR, your interests and ours must be weighed. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.

Cookies
Our website uses so-called “cookies.” Cookies are small data packets and do not cause any damage to your device. They are stored on your device either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (persistent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Persistent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or they are automatically deleted by your web browser.
Cookies can originate from us (first-party cookies) or from third-party companies (so-called third-party cookies). Third-party cookies enable the integration of certain services from third-party companies within websites (e.g., cookies for processing payment services).
Cookies have various functions. Many cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g., the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies may be used to evaluate user behavior or for advertising purposes.
Cookies that are required to carry out the electronic communication process, to provide certain functions you have requested (e.g., for the shopping cart function), or to optimize the website (e.g., cookies for measuring the web audience) (necessary cookies) are stored on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, unless another legal basis is stated. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing necessary cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of its services. If consent to the storage of cookies and comparable recognition technologies has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG); consent can be revoked at any time.

Mandatory statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.
The Usercentrics banner on this website was configured with the help of eRecht24. You can recognize this by the eRecht24 logo appearing in the banner. To display the eRecht24 logo in the banner, a connection to the eRecht24 image server is established. In the process, the IP address is also transmitted, but it is only stored in anonymized form in the server logs. The eRecht24 image server is located in Germany with a German provider. The banner itself is provided exclusively by Usercentrics.
Usercentrics is used to obtain the legally required consents for the use of certain technologies. The legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.

If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact details you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.

Communication via WhatsApp
For communication with our customers and other third parties, we use, among other things, the instant messaging service WhatsApp. The provider is WhatsApp Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland.
Communication takes place via end-to-end encryption (peer-to-peer), which prevents WhatsApp or other third parties from gaining access to the communication content. However, WhatsApp does gain access to metadata created in the course of the communication process (e.g., sender, recipient, and time). We would also like to point out that, according to its own statements, WhatsApp shares personal data of its users with its US-based parent company Meta. Further details on data processing can be found in WhatsApp’s privacy policy at: https://www.whatsapp.com/legal/#privacy-policy.
WhatsApp is used on the basis of our legitimate interest in communicating as quickly and effectively as possible with customers, prospective customers, and other business and contractual partners (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If a corresponding consent has been requested, data processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of the consent; this can be revoked at any time with effect for the future.

Communication via Telegram
For communication with customers and other third parties, we use, among other things, the instant messaging service Telegram. The provider is Telegram Messenger LLP, 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom.
When you communicate via Telegram, this is done using encryption between the device and the server. This prevents Telegram or other third parties from gaining access to the communication content.
In addition, end-to-end encryption is possible, but it is only used in secret chats. In normal chats, therefore, there is generally no end-to-end encryption.
When you use Telegram, Telegram gains access to metadata that is created during use and in the course of the communication process (e.g., sender, recipient, time of messages, device used, operating system, IP address, user names, etc.).
Telegram is used on the basis of our legitimate interest in communicating as quickly and effectively as possible with customers, prospective customers, and other third parties (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

As the website operator, we can evaluate this data quantitatively, for example by analyzing which search terms led to our advertisements being displayed and how many advertisements led to corresponding clicks.
On this site, we use Microsoft Advertising’s Universal Event Tracking (UET). Google AdSense (Non-Personalized)
This website uses Google AdSense, a service for integrating advertisements. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
We use Google AdSense in “non-personalized” mode. In contrast to personalized mode, the advertisements are therefore not based on your previous user behavior and no user profile is created for you. Instead, so-called “contextual information” is used when selecting the advertising. The selected advertisements are then based, for example, on your location, the content of the website you are on, or your current search terms. More information on the differences between personalized and non-personalized targeting with Google AdSense can be found at: https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/9007336.

With the help of Google Conversion Tracking, Google and we can recognize whether the user has performed certain actions. Meta Pixel (formerly Facebook Pixel)
To measure conversions, this website uses Meta’s visitor action pixel. The provider of this service is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland. According to Meta, however, the data collected is also transferred to the USA and other third countries.
This allows the behavior of site visitors to be tracked after they have been redirected to the provider’s website by clicking on a Meta advertisement. This allows the effectiveness of Meta advertisements to be evaluated for statistical and market research purposes and future advertising measures to be optimized.
The data collected is anonymous to us as the operator of this website; we cannot draw any conclusions about the identity of the users. However, the data is stored and processed by Meta so that a connection to the respective user profile on Facebook or Instagram is possible and Meta can use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with the Meta Data Policy (https://de-de.facebook.com/about/privacy/). This enables Meta to place advertisements on Facebook or Instagram pages and other advertising channels. We, as the site operator, cannot influence this use of the data.
This service is used on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. Consent can be revoked at any time.
We use the advanced matching function within the Meta Pixel.
Advanced matching enables us to transmit various types of data (e.g., city of residence, state, zip code, hashed email addresses, names, gender, date of birth, or phone number) of our customers and prospective customers that we collect via our website to Meta. This allows us to tailor our advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram even more precisely to people who are interested in our offerings. In addition, advanced matching improves the attribution of website conversions and expands custom audiences.
Insofar as personal data is collected on our website with the help of the tool described here and forwarded to Meta, we and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland, are jointly responsible for this data processing (Art. 26 GDPR). Joint responsibility is limited exclusively to the collection of the data and its forwarding to Meta. The processing by Meta that takes place after forwarding is not part of the joint responsibility. The obligations incumbent on us jointly have been set out in a joint processing agreement. The wording of the agreement can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/legal/controller_addendum. According to this agreement, we are responsible for providing the data protection information when using the Meta tool and for the implementation of the tool on our website in compliance with data protection law. Meta is responsible for the data security of Meta products. You can assert data subject rights (e.g., requests for information) regarding the data processed by Facebook or Instagram directly with Meta. If you assert your data subject rights with us, we are obligated to forward them to Meta.

Data Processing by the LinkedIn Insight Tag
With the help of the LinkedIn Insight Tag, we receive information about the visitors to our website. The IP addresses are shortened or (if they are used to reach LinkedIn members across devices) hashed (pseudonymized). The direct identifiers of LinkedIn members are deleted by LinkedIn after seven days. The remaining pseudonymized data is then deleted within 180 days.
The data collected by LinkedIn cannot be assigned to specific individuals by us as the website operator. LinkedIn will store the collected personal data of website visitors on its servers in the USA and use it as part of its own advertising measures. 7. Newsletter
Newsletter Data
If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we need an email address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected, or only on a voluntary basis. For the handling of the newsletter, we use newsletter service providers, which are described below.
Mailchimp
This website uses the services of Mailchimp to send newsletters. The provider is Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.
Mailchimp is a service that can be used, among other things, to organize and analyze the sending of newsletters. If you enter data for the purpose of receiving the newsletter (e.g., email address), it is stored on Mailchimp’s servers in the USA.
With the help of Mailchimp, we can analyze our newsletter campaigns. When you open an email sent with Mailchimp, a file contained in the email (so-called web beacon) connects to Mailchimp’s servers in the USA. This makes it possible to determine whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links, if any, have been clicked. In addition, technical information is recorded (e.g., time of access, IP address, browser type, and operating system). This information cannot be assigned to the respective newsletter recipient. It is used exclusively for the statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. The results of these analyses can be used to better tailor future newsletters to the interests of the recipients.
If you do not want Mailchimp to analyze your data, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. For this purpose, we provide a corresponding link in every newsletter message.
Data processing is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. The lawfulness of data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.
The data you have provided to us for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored by us or the newsletter service provider until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted from the newsletter distribution list after you unsubscribe. Data stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected.
Data transfer to the USA is based on the Standard Contractual Clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://mailchimp.com/eu-us-data-transfer-statement/ and https://mailchimp.com/legal/data-processing-addendum/#Annex_C_-_Standard_Contractual_Clauses.
After you have been removed from the newsletter distribution list, your email address may be stored by us or the newsletter service provider in a blacklist if this is necessary to prevent future mailings. The data from the blacklist is used only for this purpose and is not merged with other data. This serves both your interest and our interest in complying with the legal requirements when sending newsletters (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Storage in the blacklist is not limited in time. You can object to the storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.
For more information, please refer to Mailchimp’s privacy provisions at: https://mailchimp.com/legal/terms/.

We can also see whether certain previously defined actions were performed after opening/clicking (conversion rate). For example, we can see whether you made a purchase after clicking on the newsletter.
ActiveCampaign also enables us to divide newsletter recipients into various categories (“clustering”). Newsletter recipients can be divided, for example, by age, gender, or place of residence. In this way, the newsletters can be better tailored to the respective target groups. If you do not want ActiveCampaign to analyze your data, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. For this purpose, we provide a corresponding link in every newsletter message.

10. E-Commerce and Payment Providers
Processing of Customer and Contract Data
We collect, process, and use personal customer and contract data to establish, define the content of, and modify our contractual relationships. We collect, process, and use personal data about the use of this website (usage data) only to the extent necessary to enable the user to use the service or to bill for it. The legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
The collected customer data will be deleted after completion of the order or termination of the business relationship and expiry of any existing statutory retention periods. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
Data Transfer upon Conclusion of a Contract for Online Shops, Retailers, and Shipping of Goods
If you order goods from us, we pass on your personal data to the transport company entrusted with the delivery and to the payment service provider commissioned with payment processing. Only the data that the respective service provider needs to fulfill its task will be passed on. The legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the fulfillment of a contract or pre-contractual measures. If you have given your corresponding consent in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, we will pass on your email address to the transport company entrusted with the delivery so that it can inform you by email about the shipping status of your order; you can revoke your consent at any time.
Data Transfer upon Conclusion of a Contract for Services and Digital Content
We only transfer personal data to third parties if this is necessary in the context of processing the contract, for example to the credit institution commissioned with payment processing.
No further transfer of data takes place, or only if you have expressly consented to the transfer. Your data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent, for example for advertising purposes.
The basis for data processing is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the fulfillment of a contract or pre-contractual measures.
Credit Checks
In the case of purchase on account or another payment method in which we make an advance payment, we may carry out a credit check (scoring). For this purpose, we transmit the data you have entered (e.g., name, address, age, or bank details) to a credit agency. On the basis of this data, the probability of a payment default is determined. If the risk of payment default is excessive, we may refuse the payment method in question.
The credit check is carried out on the basis of contract fulfillment (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and to avoid payment defaults (legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If consent has been obtained, the credit check is carried out on the basis of this consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); consent can be revoked at any time.

The payment service providers are used on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract processing) and in the interest of a payment process that is as smooth, convenient, and secure as possible (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). 12. Our Own Services
Handling of Applicant Data
We offer you the opportunity to apply to us (e.g., by email, by mail, or via an online application form). Below, we inform you about the scope, purpose, and use of your personal data collected as part of the application process. We assure you that the collection, processing, and use of your data will be carried out in accordance with applicable data protection law and all other statutory provisions and that your data will be treated in strict confidence.
Scope and Purpose of Data Collection
If you send us an application, we process your associated personal data (e.g., contact and communication data, application documents, notes taken during job interviews, etc.) insofar as this is necessary to decide on the establishment of an employment relationship. The legal basis for this is Section 26 BDSG (German Federal Data Protection Act) under German law (initiation of an employment relationship), Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (general contract initiation), and – if you have given consent – Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Consent can be revoked at any time. Within our company, your personal data will only be passed on to persons involved in processing your application.
If the application is successful, the data you have submitted will be stored in our data processing systems on the basis of Section 26 BDSG and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for the purpose of implementing the employment relationship.
As part of the application process, we may also conduct an internet search on you. This primarily includes Google search, LinkedIn, and XING. The legal basis for this type of processing is our legitimate interest in obtaining an overall impression of publicly available information about you in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Data Retention Period
If we are unable to offer you a position, you decline a job offer, or you withdraw your application, we reserve the right to retain the data you have submitted on the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for up to 6 months from the end of the application process (rejection or withdrawal of the application). The data will then be deleted and the physical application documents destroyed. The retention serves in particular as evidence in the event of a legal dispute. If it is apparent that the data will be required after the 6-month period has expired (e.g., due to an impending or pending legal dispute), deletion will only take place when the purpose for further retention no longer applies.
Longer retention may also take place if you have given your corresponding consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) or if statutory retention obligations prevent deletion.
Inclusion in the Applicant Pool
If we do not make you a job offer, it may be possible to include you in our applicant pool. In the event of inclusion, all documents and information from the application will be transferred to the applicant pool in order to contact you in the event of suitable vacancies.
